In the last two months, celebrities and catwalk shows all over the world have begun to show us the hair trends that are set to make it big in 2018. Now is the time to think about what styles and trends YOU want to experiment with in 2018.

Our team of talented colour technicians and stylists can recreate any of these looks at our Bishop’s Stortford salon. Don’t leave it too late! This year be the trendsetter and not the trend follower…

Dirty Blonde Hair Colour

Made popular by celebrities like Selena Gomez and Lily Collins, ‘dirty blonde’ is the new A-list hair trend. Keep your roots dark and the lengths of your hair golden blonde to really nail this trend.  The trick with this look is to keep the colour dirty but the condition of your hair smooth and healthy. We recommend using Elixir Ultime Oil by Kérastase to ensure the lengths of your hair stay look soft and luxurious!

Tousled Wet-Look Hair

The wet look isn’t a new trend but 2018 sees a new take on this originally poker straight, stuck to the head style. Now is the time to try the ‘undone’ version of the look by embracing wet look curls and looser up-dos. To keep those wet look curls intact we recommend styling this trend with flexible Sculpting Foam by Paul Mitchell.

Silver Hair Colour

Forget the greys and dirty pastels that everyone was obsessed with last year. Get ahead of the trends and opt for Silver! Different to the grey tones we saw in 2017, the goal for this look is super shiny and metallic! Metallic colours are already making it big in the clothing and make-up industry, but now we are seeing celebs rock this look with their hair colour too! In order to get this look right you need to ensure your hair tone stays cool and ashy, we recommend using colour vitality blonde shampoo and conditioner by KMS.

Bobs & Flyaway Fringes

OK, we know this seems super scary but there are tricks to getting this look right. Avoid a blunt cut, block fringe and opt for a softer, finer fringe, this will prevent your face looking too rounded. Plus by keeping the fringe long and past the eyebrows you can achieve a more versatile look.

If the bob with a fringe is not for you look to Jennifer Lawrence and try a flyaway fringe. You want this look to be textured by wearing your fringe in a ‘blown away’ side sweep, keeping the rest of your hair in a fluffy, messy up do. To get this look right you need to focus on getting the correct texture into the hair, we recommend trying the Sea Salt Spray by KMS as it allows you to give your hair and tousled texture with a matte finish.
